2027 Summer Intern, PhD in USA

Responsibilities

  • Determine and author requirements and verification items for pedestrian detection models.
  • Collect and analyze data from existing logs and structured tests to evaluate requirements and identify false-positive clusters.
  • Run evaluations and triage results to track performance and release-over-release changes.
  • Build and use evaluation frameworks to identify improvement opportunities for Perception teams.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a PhD in a technical field such as Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science.
  • Software engineering fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering and the flow from requirements to tests.
  • Preferred experience handling large datasets or queries using SQL or Python and/or automating test flows.
  • Preferred understanding of autonomous vehicle stacks, including sensor-to-Perception data pipelines.
  • Preferred experience in autonomous vehicles or similar automation fields.

  • Hybrid onsite internship position.
  • Interns are eligible for the company’s benefits programs, subject to eligibility requirements.
  • Full-time internship with an hourly PhD pay rate of $85 per hour; applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the role is filled.
