Responsibilities

  • Research and develop machine learning models for perception and understanding across visual, audio, and other real-world signals.
  • Explore production systems combining specialized models with larger general-purpose models.
  • Design data, training, and evaluation approaches that work under real-world conditions.
  • Analyze model behavior, robustness, and failure modes across data, deployment, and operating conditions.
  • Integrate and validate new capabilities in real-time or resource-constrained systems.
  • Partner with firmware, platform, and product teams to turn research into working systems.
  • Own work end to end across model development, edge deployment, cloud pipelines, and production debugging.

Requirements

  • Deep-learning fundamentals covering architectures, training dynamics, evaluation design, data quality, and annotation.
  • Systems thinking around latency and memory budgets, failure modes, distributed pipelines, and on-device constraints.
  • End-to-end ownership across model, edge, and cloud boundaries and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Hands-on experience using agentic development tools and AI-assisted coding as a core part of building and shipping.
  • Proficiency in Python and PyTorch.
  • Working ability in at least one systems language, such as C++ or Go.
  • Preferred experience building LLM or agent-based applications with tool use, retrieval over domain data, and evaluation of non-deterministic systems.
  • Preferred experience with on-device or embedded ML using SNPE, TensorRT, TFLite, ONNX Runtime, or similar tools.
  • Preferred experience with video understanding, VLM or embedding models, or large-scale retrieval.
  • Preferred experience with large-scale video or telemetry data, annotation pipelines, and observability tools such as Snowflake or Redash.
  • Preferred experience with distributed training or experimentation frameworks such as Ray or Anyscale and rigorous evaluation harnesses.
