AI Engineering Lead in Remote

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an AI and automation roadmap aligned with organisational priorities and measurable business value.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify and prioritise AI, automation, and intelligent systems opportunities.
  • Lead the full lifecycle design, development, deployment, integration, and scaling of AI-enabled solutions and workflows.
  • Architect secure, scalable, maintainable integrations across enterprise applications, data platforms, and operational systems.
  • Guide technical decisions, architecture, code reviews, technical reviews, governance, and operating standards.
  • Champion organisational adoption of AI, automation, and improved ways of working.
  • Mentor engineers through hands-on guidance, pair-building, coaching, and technical reviews.
  • Monitor solution performance, adoption, impact, risks, sustainability, and value realization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Strong understanding of artificial intelligence, automation, machine learning, analytics, business process improvement, operational systems, digital transformation, enterprise systems, integrations, software engineering, and technology platforms.
  • Strong AI engineering, automation engineering, software development, solution design, systems thinking, workflow orchestration, API integration, middleware, and enterprise systems integration skills.
  • Demonstrated experience personally building and deploying production-grade AI, automation, and intelligent workflow solutions.
  • Ability to integrate AI capabilities into business processes and operational systems, translate business challenges into practical solutions, and evaluate technical trade-offs.
  • Ability to balance hands-on delivery with team leadership, coaching, mentorship, stakeholder influence, organisational adoption, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong business and operational acumen, experimentation, analytical and problem-solving ability, learning agility, and commitment to continuous improvement.
