Responsibilities

Bring up new devices and lead debugging, performance tuning, and issue resolution across hardware, firmware, and software teams.
Design, implement, and maintain Android drivers and services for constrained embedded payment environments.
Own work streams involving hardware bring-up, peripheral drivers and communication, and power and performance optimization.
Analyze bug reports, manage defect resolution, and communicate issue status.
Develop and maintain automated tests and collaborate with QA on test-case creation and execution.
Perform code reviews and support product and feature development quality and timeliness.
Work with global teams, external vendors, and partner teams across the hardware and software product lifecycle.

Requirements

At least 2 years of software engineering experience in device driver development, embedded systems, or operating systems.
At least 2 years of experience working with mobile or other connected devices.
Experience with automated testing, build systems, and inter-component communication protocols such as UART, GPIO, SPI, and I2C.
Proficiency in C/C++ or Kotlin/Java.
Experience with Android OS and associated software development tools.
Experience adding, monitoring, and parsing telemetry data to proactively resolve issues.
A degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese.
Preferred qualifications include ARM platform and microcontroller experience, EMV knowledge, cryptography knowledge, POS hardware and peripheral experience, and PCI, transaction-processing, and retail-standards expertise.
