Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and maintain native Android product experiences using Kotlin.
Partner with product, design, backend, and engineering teams to develop scalable solutions and define APIs and data contracts.
Contribute to Android architecture and technical decisions involving modular design, performance, maintainability, and documentation.
Monitor application performance, crash data, member feedback, and product metrics to improve reliability and member experience.
Support Android builds, build variants, signing, testing, Firebase distribution, and Google Play Store releases.
Contribute to team growth through code reviews, knowledge sharing, technical documentation, and onboarding.
Develop Android and AI features for WHOOP’s personalized recommendation engine.

Requirements

Professional experience building, testing, debugging, and delivering native Android applications.
Proficiency with Kotlin and familiarity with Coroutines, Jetpack libraries, ViewModel, Flow, Navigation, Room, Retrofit, and OkHttp.
Strong understanding of Android application architecture, lifecycle, components, and platform design principles.
Experience with scalable and modular mobile architecture patterns such as MVVM.
Experience integrating mobile applications with RESTful APIs and collaborating with backend engineers on data contracts.
Product-oriented mindset with empathy for member experience and interest in using data and feedback to improve products.
Ability to collaborate effectively, communicate technical concepts clearly, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to using AI tools in day-to-day work while maintaining high-quality standards.

Benefits

Full-time position based in the WHOOP office in Boston, MA, with relocation required if necessary.
Base salary plus benefits, equity, and a generous equity package.
