Associate Software Engineer

Associate Software Engineer in Australia

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, reproduce, and resolve customer support cases and escalations.
  • Debug code, logs, databases, and development tools to identify root causes and improve product reliability.
  • Implement, test, review, and safely release fixes in collaboration with engineering, QA, product, and support teams.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the product, codebase, architecture, development practices, testing, and deployments.
  • Use AI tools thoughtfully to investigate problems, understand unfamiliar code, explore solutions, and write tests.
  • Take ownership of increasingly complex problems while growing into feature development and other engineering areas.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of software fundamentals such as APIs, debugging, testing, and data structures.
  • Some hands-on experience building or maintaining web applications using C#, .NET, and JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server or relational databases and an interest in understanding application data flows.
  • Curiosity, problem-solving ability, ownership, willingness to learn, and comfort working in an existing codebase.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering, QA, product, and support teams while accepting feedback and taking on increasing responsibility.
  • A degree in Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
