Associate Software Engineer (UI) in USA

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain customer-facing features across web, iOS, and Android with support from senior engineers.
  • Implement frontend functionality using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
  • Contribute to React Native mobile and web application experiences.
  • Integrate frontend components with REST APIs and third-party analytics, messaging, and feature-flagging services.
  • Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
  • Apply best practices for testing, accessibility, performance, and safe releases.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend Engineering, QA, and engineering management to ship user-focused improvements.
  • Debug issues, document development practices, participate in team rituals, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 0–3 years of software engineering experience, including internships, co-ops, academic projects, bootcamp projects, or professional experience.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and modern web development fundamentals.
  • Basic understanding of REST APIs and frontend-to-backend communication.
  • Familiarity with Git and common software development workflows.
  • Interest in writing reliable, tested, accessible, and maintainable code.
  • Strong willingness to learn, receive feedback, and grow in a collaborative engineering environment.
  • Preferred: internship, project, or professional experience with React.
  • Preferred: experience using agentic engineering tools such as Claude, OpenAI/Codex, or Copilot.
  • Preferred: bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred: foundational JavaScript or TypeScript experience and experience with React, React Native, or similar frontend frameworks.
  • Preferred: personal, academic, or open-source projects demonstrating frontend craftsmanship and product thinking.
