Responsibilities

  • Develop scalable, fault-tolerant, performance-critical back-end applications and APIs serving millions of users daily.
  • Direct significant company-wide projects and set technical vision.
  • Make architectural decisions and establish technical standards and direction for the team.
  • Implement advanced CI/CD pipelines and robust testing strategies for reliable integration, deployment, and code quality.
  • Contribute to systems supporting inventory, pricing, product information, customer data, communications, partner data, bookings, and payments.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience developing performance-critical applications in production using Scala, Java, Kotlin, or relevant modern programming languages.
  • Strong knowledge of relational database management systems, including SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or comparable systems.
  • Experience making architectural decisions and setting technical standards and direction.
  • Ability to direct significant company-wide projects and set technical vision.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Preferred: knowledge of NoSQL databases, queueing systems, and the Play framework.
  • Preferred queueing-system experience includes Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or MSMQ.
