Responsibilities

  • Build and design next-generation Stripe products for company and customer growth.
  • Debug and resolve critical production issues across services and multiple stack levels.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to their professional growth.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and teams to build large-scale features and improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
  • Work effectively in a distributed and hybrid team.

Requirements

  • Requires 2–10+ years of industry software engineering experience, excluding internships and co-ops.
  • Strong coding skills in any programming language.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to contribute across workstreams and support peers.
  • Ability to work with substantial autonomy and responsibility in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Interest in backend specialization across varying technologies and stacks.
  • Preferred: experience with large-scale financial tracking systems.
  • Preferred: practical knowledge of cloud-based services.
  • Preferred: experience with or enthusiasm for AI and agentic workflows.
