Backend Engineer(Data) - Attribute™ in Others

Responsibilities

  • Co-own portions of the product roadmap and backlog and help define and scope future product capabilities.
  • Design, implement, maintain, and propose new product features from initial specification through production.
  • Review pull requests and contribute to code quality and engineering standards.
  • Improve codebase health by addressing technical debt and participating in dedicated housekeeping work.
  • Collaborate with teammates to provide feedback, identify unknowns, and plan upcoming work.
  • Operate and support backend services, ETL processes, and data pipelines in production.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, backend engineering, or a similar field.
  • At least 2 years of practical experience with Python, Spark, and PySpark.
  • Experience building ETL processes and working with big-data technologies such as Pub/Sub.
  • Familiarity with Terraform and CI/CD methodologies.
  • Experience building or operating data pipelines in a production SaaS cloud environment.
  • Ability to learn tools quickly, use AI effectively, and apply sound engineering judgment.
  • Strong collaboration, independent contribution, communication, pragmatic problem-solving, and iterative development skills.
  • A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience is a bonus qualification.
  • Experience with C++ or C# and familiarity with Google Cloud Platform are bonus qualifications.
