Backend Lead Software Engineer (L5) in Others

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of product features, experiments, technical initiatives, and complex backend systems.
  • Shape architecture decisions, provide technical leadership, and coach distributed engineers.
  • Continuously improve system architecture, software design, code quality, and engineering practices.
  • Influence and drive important technical decisions across the organization.
  • Write high-quality maintainable code and support other engineers in doing the same.
  • Collaborate with backend, client-side, and infrastructure teams.
  • Strengthen agile and scrum ways of working and improve team productivity through KPI-driven practices.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience building performance-critical production applications using a JVM technology stack such as Java, Scala, or Kotlin.
  • Proven experience leading projects, technical initiatives, or engineering teams with full ownership of the systems involved.
  • Hands-on experience with data platforms such as SQL, Cassandra, or Hadoop, including selecting appropriate data solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, software development, coding, and software architecture.
  • Experience driving architectural decisions within a team and improving team productivity and effectiveness through KPI-driven engineering practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with a passion for software craftsmanship, continuous learning, and engineering excellence.
