Backend Python Databricks Software Engineer in USA

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain scalable Python backend software solutions and production code.
  • Build, deploy, optimize, and support PySpark-based data pipelines and Databricks data engineering modules.
  • Create architecture and design artifacts and ensure software implementations meet design constraints and platform standards.
  • Use enterprise-authorized AI coding assistance for code generation, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation while validating outputs through review and testing.
  • Analyze large and diverse financial datasets, develop visualizations and reporting, and identify patterns that improve software and system architecture.
  • Participate in code reviews and collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to translate finance requirements into technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, operational stability, and production debugging and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in Python backend development and production experience building and optimizing PySpark data pipelines.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, deploying, and supporting modules on Databricks.
  • Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and critically evaluating and refining their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, security expectations, and the software development life cycle.
  • Preferred experience with Apache Spark, Kafka, cloud data platforms, AWS, infrastructure-as-code, pipeline orchestration, financial services, data governance, data quality, or metadata management.
