Responsibilities

  • Conduct feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk assessment, systems analysis, and application development.
  • Design, construct, test, implement, monitor, and support application systems for business users.
  • Develop big data and low-latency applications using Java, Scala, Spark, and the Hadoop ecosystem.
  • Analyze complex application and business-process issues and recommend advanced programming solutions.
  • Develop post-implementation security measures and assess system usage and functionality.
  • Consult with users, clients, and technology groups and provide operational and user support.
  • Define operating standards and processes and ensure required procedures are followed.
  • Serve as an advisor or coach to new and lower-level analysts.
  • Assess risk, maintain compliance with applicable policies and regulations, and escalate control issues transparently.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of relevant development experience.
  • Experience with systems analysis and programming of software applications.
  • Experience managing and implementing successful projects.
  • Expertise with Hadoop, HDFS, Impala, Hive, HBase, Java server-side development, Scala, Spark, SQL, Python, Linux, Databricks, and AWS.
  • Experience with Spark micro-batch, end-of-day, and real-time processing.
  • Financial background preferred.
  • Working knowledge of consulting and project management techniques and methods.
  • Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, handle changing requirements, multitask, and learn new concepts.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, process-based, functional design, and business-modeling skills.
