Responsibilities

  • Design and develop modular, maintainable, and high-performance infotainment applications using Android Automotive OS.
  • Architect full-stack solutions for media, navigation, user profiles, and distributed playback.
  • Develop modules that communicate with VHAL and other HALs using AIDL and HIDL.
  • Integrate applications with Android system services and vendor-specific frameworks.
  • Debug and optimize issues across application, framework, and HAL layers.
  • Collaborate with platform, hardware, and QA teams on integration and validation.
  • Mentor junior developers and enforce architecture, code quality, and testing best practices.
  • Create and present architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation documentation.
  • Lead Android infotainment application development across automotive platforms.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience is required, with approximately 4 years in Android application development and infotainment or telematics preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is also mentioned as an option.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and C++ 14/17.
  • Deep understanding of Android SDK, Android NDK, Jetpack libraries, and MVVM architecture.
  • Experience with Android Activities, Services, Broadcast Receivers, and Content Providers.
  • Hands-on experience with AIDL, HIDL, VHAL, and HAL-to-application communication.
  • Familiarity with Android Automotive OS car services and infotainment integration.
  • Experience with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and CAN at the application level.
  • Exposure to media, phone, navigation, and cloud communication applications.
  • Experience with partitioning concepts and cross-partition communication.
  • Proficiency in unit testing, instrumentation testing, and mocking frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, adb, logcat, Perfetto, and Systrace.
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety, ASPICE, ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity, TARA, and secure communication.
  • Experience in automotive or embedded software domains is preferred.
