Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of Android Automotive OS infotainment applications with emphasis on modularity, performance, and maintainability.
  • Architect media, navigation, user profile, and distributed playback solutions across automotive platforms.
  • Develop HAL communication modules using VHAL, AIDL, and HIDL.
  • Integrate applications with Android system services and vendor-specific frameworks.
  • Debug and optimize issues across application, framework, and HAL layers.
  • Collaborate with platform, hardware, and QA teams on integration and validation.
  • Mentor junior developers and enforce architecture, code quality, and testing practices.
  • Create and present architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation details.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7.5 years of experience is required, with the posting also describing approximately 10 years of Android and infotainment or telematics experience.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and C++ including C++14/17.
  • Deep knowledge of Android SDK, NDK, Jetpack libraries, MVVM architecture, Android components, AAOS car services, and infotainment integration.
  • Hands-on experience with AIDL/HIDL, VHAL, HAL-to-application communication, partitioning, and cross-partition communication.
  • Experience with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, CAN, media, phone, navigation, and cloud communication at the application level.
  • Experience with unit testing, instrumentation testing, mocking frameworks, Git, CI/CD workflows, adb, logcat, Perfetto, and Systrace.
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262, ASPICE, ISO/SAE 21434, TARA, and secure communication practices.
