Data Engineer - Senior in Remote new

Responsibilities

  • Build business-critical, robust, and self-service data products using Apache Spark, Kafka, Delta Lake, and other big data technologies.
  • Design, develop, deploy, and integrate scalable data solutions and processing tools.
  • Build ETL pipelines and perform feature engineering on large-scale datasets.
  • Develop stream-processing applications using Spark Streaming, Kafka Streams, or equivalent technologies.
  • Ensure pipeline performance and data quality through scalable architecture and optimization.
  • Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions for data pipelines.
  • Refine data solutions as business requirements and technical constraints evolve.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand data needs and support adoption of data products.
  • Research and integrate new data processing tools and technologies while contributing to platform architecture.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language, such as Scala, Java, or Python.
  • Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, data marts, data transformation, and large data volumes.
  • Experience building ETL pipelines with Apache Spark and Delta Lake.
  • Experience sourcing and modeling data from application APIs.
  • Experience building stream-processing applications with Spark Streaming, Kafka Streams, or equivalent tools.
  • Experience implementing monitoring, alerting, and observability for data pipelines using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Alertmanager.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Upper-intermediate English proficiency and strong command of Russian.
  • Preferred: experience with Apache Airflow, Kubernetes, containerization, cloud platforms, CDC, Debezium, ClickHouse, data quality validation, data lineage, NoSQL and relational databases, and search systems.
  • Preferred: master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent experience in Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
