We're looking to onboard another unicorn — this time, one who feels equally comfortable inside Laravel, Linux, Cloudflare and AWS. Not someone whose answer to every problem is “the server looks fine”: a DevOps engineer who deeply understands the applications running on the infrastructure, can follow a Laravel request all the way through queues, Redis, workers, databases and WebSockets, and isn't afraid to open the codebase when infrastructure and application behaviour start overlapping. Our infrastructure spans DigitalOcean, Laravel Forge, Laravel Cloud, AWS and Cloudflare Enterprise, supporting multiple interconnected applications, APIs, workers, real-time systems and a large domain network. In other words: this isn't keeping a few Ubuntu boxes alive.
Laravel sits at the centre of our ecosystem, so strong Laravel knowledge matters here — and you should be comfortable around our Nuxt and Vue applications even if you never build a frontend component. The environment: Laravel and modern PHP, Nuxt and Vue, Livewire, Alpine, Nova, MySQL, Redis, REST APIs, WebSockets and high-frequency queues, running on Laravel Cloud, a tailor-made AWS setup, DigitalOcean App Platform, Laravel Forge and Ubuntu — managed platforms where they are enough, considerably more control where they are not.
Cloudflare is a major part of the picture rather than an afterthought: hundreds of domains run through Cloudflare Enterprise — DNS, WAF and security rules, redirects, SSL/TLS, origins, caching, geographic access rules — and hands-on Cloudflare experience is required. Managing hundreds of domains by hand gets boring very quickly, so a big part of this role is building the internal tooling that manages infrastructure at scale: if something needs doing 100 times, your first instinct should be “why are we doing this manually?”. The same applies to observability — a green deployment badge doesn't mean everything is fine, and because our applications run across different markets, what a user actually sees from a particular GEO matters as much as whether the origin returned 200. When something breaks, we want to know before someone tells us on Slack. We work with GitHub Actions, CodeRabbit, SonarQube, PHPStan, Sentry and Laravel Nightwatch, with AI-powered engineering workflows wired straight into Slack — AI is already part of how we operate, as a tool for removing repetitive work while still understanding what is happening underneath.
What you'll own
- Maintain and evolve the infrastructure behind our Laravel and Nuxt applications across Laravel Cloud, AWS, DigitalOcean App Platform and Laravel Forge
- Run Ubuntu-based environments and production services; keep Redis, queues, workers and real-time infrastructure healthy and fast
- Understand how Laravel applications behave in production rather than treating them as black boxes, and support the deployment and runtime needs of Nuxt and Vue
- Manage hundreds of domains through Cloudflare Enterprise, and build the tools that automate Cloudflare, domain, DNS, certificate and infrastructure management
- Improve deployment and CI/CD workflows; automate server configuration, environment management and every repetitive operational process you can
- Build and maintain uptime and infrastructure monitoring, including checks from multiple geographic locations and the systems that proxy requests through different GEOs for testing
- Investigate production incidents across both layers — performance, networking, DNS, SSL, caching, connectivity — and work closely with developers when the line between application problem and infrastructure problem blurs
- Improve security, reliability, scalability and observability across the platform, documenting the decisions that matter
What you bring
- Strong professional experience in DevOps, SRE, platform engineering or infrastructure, operating production cloud infrastructure
- Deep understanding of Laravel and its production architecture, PHP deployment and runtime behaviour, and how a request moves through queues, workers, Redis, schedulers and WebSockets
- Strong Linux and Ubuntu experience
- Strong hands-on Cloudflare experience — ideally Cloudflare Enterprise — managing DNS, WAF rules, SSL/TLS, caching, redirects and networking at scale
- Experience with AWS and DigitalOcean
- Experience with CI/CD and GitHub-based workflows
- Strong understanding of HTTP, DNS, networking, proxies and TLS
- Strong monitoring and production-debugging skills, able to diagnose issues across both the application and infrastructure layers
- Ability to automate infrastructure and operational workflows through APIs and scripting rather than dashboards
- Strong sense of ownership and reliability, with clear and early communication
