Founding Engineer in Canada new

Responsibilities

  • Talk with customers and translate their needs into product improvements.
  • Design, build, and ship full-stack features for customer, analyst, and expert reviewer experiences.
  • Develop and operate the platform supporting AI-assisted document review and diligence workflows.
  • Build systems that isolate customer data and provide access control and auditability.
  • Ensure extracted claims are grounded in source documents and route unsupported questions to expert reviewers.
  • Use measurable experiments to evaluate changes, monitor accuracy, and address regressions.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience, including startup experience as a founding engineer or early team member.
  • Full-stack engineering experience across frontend and backend development.
  • Experience with agent architectures or LLM-powered workflows.
  • Experience building document processing, retrieval, or extraction systems.
  • Familiarity with Rails, React, Postgres, or Elasticsearch.
  • Background in fintech, legaltech, proptech, or energy and infrastructure.
  • Ability to work in North American time zones.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $130,000 to $150,000 USD annually plus meaningful equity.
  • Remote work with a primary location in Canada.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available.
