Responsibilities

Develop Horizon’s frontend web application and contribute to product development.
Collaborate with software engineers, scientists, designers, and product managers to implement, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain products.
Influence software architecture and proactively implement the software roadmap.
Solve technical problems and implement solutions in code for integration with products and services.
Advise the Director of Engineering with timely, accurate, and well-researched recommendations.
Identify technical gaps, recommend improvements, and maintain professional software development practices.
Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development.
Maintain documentation and present results internally and externally.
Contribute to reports, research papers, and technical documentation.
Collaborate with employees and external partners on intellectual property related to quantum hardware and software innovations.
Keep current with relevant technical and software development advances.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, electronics engineering, or a related technology area.
At least 3 years of relevant frontend software engineering experience in a high-performing team.
Strong knowledge of modern software architecture, APIs, and command-line interfaces.
Demonstrable knowledge of CSS, JavaScript, HTML, Next.js, React, TypeScript, Chakra UI, Apollo Client, React-Ace, and Zustand or Redux/Context API.
Knowledge of Git or SVN, agile methodology, and industry-standard development tools.
Experience deploying web technologies through cloud services.
Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, coding, testing, and debugging skills.
A strong record of shipping high-quality products, features, and functionality on schedule.
Ability to learn and ramp up quickly on new technologies.
A master’s degree in software engineering or a related field is desirable.
Desirable experience includes Contentful, Docker, Style Dictionary, Vue.js, and Vercel.
