Responsibilities

Design and ship LLM-powered agents with tools, retrieval, and context pipelines that can reason over contracts, claims, and member history.
Enable AI agents to interoperate by handing off conversations, sharing context, and calling one another’s capabilities.
Bring automated resolution to new channels, beginning with real-time AI phone support.
Build evaluation datasets, automated evaluations, and quality monitoring for agent systems.
Measure and improve resolution rate, answer quality, and member satisfaction through production iteration on prompts, models, and architecture.
Partner with care experts and product teams to identify additional topics that AI can resolve.
Mentor engineers and lead technical initiatives.

Requirements

5+ years of experience building scalable software systems.
Strong backend experience; Python experience is a plus.
Hands-on experience building and ideally shipping production products with LLMs, including agents, tool calling, RAG, prompt engineering, and evaluation.
An evaluation mindset and the ability to measure and improve AI system quality.
Interest in healthcare technology and alignment with Alan’s mission around access to care.
Curiosity, high potential, pragmatism, and willingness to continue learning.
