Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy scalable solutions for managing databases in virtualized environments and Kubernetes clusters.
Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve challenges in large-scale, highly available database infrastructure.
Lead migrations of database services from virtual machines to Kubernetes with minimal downtime.
Support disaster recovery, backup strategies, and performance tuning for on-premise database systems.
Implement and manage observability, logging, and alerting systems.
Automate infrastructure workflows and manage stateful applications across Telnyx’s multi-cloud platform.

Requirements

At least 3 years of professional experience in infrastructure operations, especially with Linux-based systems.
Expertise in at least one deployment or orchestration technology such as Kubernetes, Ansible, or Terraform, with experience managing stateful applications.
Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or similar languages.
Hands-on experience managing at least one relational database such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
Experience with non-relational databases such as Cassandra, OpenSearch, or other distributed data stores is beneficial.
Familiarity with Kafka or RabbitMQ, including scaling and monitoring distributed deployments, is beneficial.
Proficiency with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack is beneficial.
Knowledge of service discovery tools such as Consul is a bonus.
