Responsibilities

  • Build and improve Canvas features from small fixes through complete functionality with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Write clean, tested frontend and backend code for the team’s services.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide and receive feedback.
  • Investigate and resolve bugs and production issues using logs, dashboards, and alerts.
  • Collaborate with product and design during planning and refinement.
  • Participate in team rituals including standups and retrospectives while developing skills in accessibility, cloud infrastructure, security, and quality.

Requirements

  • 0–2 years of software engineering experience; internships, personal projects, and bootcamps count.
  • Fluent Hungarian and good working English.
  • Solid coding fundamentals and hands-on experience with TypeScript and React.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and basic understanding of document-based databases.
  • Some testing knowledge and experience with Git and code review.
  • Interest in frontend development and infrastructure, with a willingness to ask questions and learn from feedback.
  • Preferred qualifications include web accessibility knowledge, interest in agentic coding or AI coding tools, Java experience, cloud services or production monitoring and debugging experience, and experience building education products.
