Responsibilities

  • Assess native mobile and cross-platform options, including React Native, against product strategy and business goals.
  • Evaluate performance, scalability, maintainability, reusability, cost, skills adoption, and industry benchmarks to recommend an approach.
  • Deliver proofs of concept to validate feasibility, platform constraints, performance, integration complexity, and architectural assumptions.
  • Engage existing engineers in proofs of concept and identify learning curves, skills requirements, technical risks, dependencies, and capability gaps.
  • Define and document the recommended architecture and core technology stack across web and mobile.
  • Map shared and platform-specific components, including APIs, business rules, identity, design systems, component libraries, release processes, quality engineering, and observability.
  • Create a prioritized technical backlog covering implementation tasks, dependencies, prerequisite work, and capability-gap resolutions.

Requirements

  • Strong expertise in the relevant engineering craft, with a focus on React Native and mobile architecture.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, solve complex problems collaboratively, and make pragmatic, outcome-focused decisions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and build trust with clients and teammates.
  • Ability to share knowledge and help other engineers grow.
  • Comfort working collaboratively in multidisciplinary, low-ego teams.
