Responsibilities

Engineer agent harnesses connecting AI models with environments and tools to perform valuable work for users.
Drive AI capabilities across multiple layers of Perplexity’s agent products.
Develop and use AI models, infrastructure, and browser technologies to scale agent capabilities.
Improve AI agent performance and user experience quality.
Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, data scientists, and other teams to integrate Perplexity functionality into agentic products.
Contribute to reliability, code quality, AI evaluation, testing, and maintenance.

Requirements

Strong foundational familiarity with the full AI product stack.
Proficiency in Python.
Significant experience in context engineering and tool interfaces, post-training and reinforcement learning, browser technologies, or extension development.
Strong product intuition and commitment to excellent user experience.
Comfort working in a small, fast-moving team and taking ownership.
TypeScript, Go, and/or Rust experience is a plus.
Passion for shipping products that surprise and delight users.

Salary: $220k - $405k/yr
