Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom Visual Studio Code extensions using JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Use VS Code Extension APIs, including commands, tree views, webviews, and language features.
  • Integrate extensions with REST APIs, internal tools, and cloud services.
  • Implement code actions, snippets, linters, debuggers, and AI-assisted tooling.
  • Ensure extension performance, stability, usability, and security.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and documented code.
  • Perform testing, debugging, optimization, and version upgrades.
  • Publish and maintain extensions in the VS Code Marketplace.
  • Collaborate with product managers and developers to gather requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript.
  • Hands-on experience with VS Code Extension Development.
  • Good understanding of Node.js.
  • Familiarity with VS Code APIs, including commands, contributions, and activation events.
  • Experience with Git and version control workflows.
  • Ability to debug and optimize extension performance.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Preferred experience with webviews, Language Server Protocol, developer tools, IDE plugins, automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, AI-powered developer tools, or code analysis.
