Responsibilities

Develop and deploy software solutions for customer missions and on-orbit spacecraft capabilities.
Architect and integrate orbital software with legacy systems, Lattice, multimodal payload platforms, bus platforms, and networking solutions.
Write code, develop algorithms, and scale mission capabilities for different users and customers.
Collaborate across teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality.
Create and analyze metrics for debugging and monitoring, triage issues, identify root causes, and coordinate follow-up actions.
Partner with end users to translate mission needs into features while balancing user experience and engineering constraints.
Provide guidance and oversight to software development efforts supporting Department of Defense and Intelligence Community customers.

Requirements

Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, or physics.
Ability to understand complex systems and detailed requirements quickly and solve complex technical problems with little oversight.
Clear communication and organizational skills, including documentation and training material development.
Ideally 3+ years of professional experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, Rust, or Go.
Experience with spacecraft software systems and spacecraft operations.
Experience with satellite mission autonomy, including fault isolation and recovery systems.
Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Advanced expertise with Python, Go, Rust, or C++ is preferred.
Experience with deployment tooling such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Helm is preferred.
Experience with OMS/UCI standards and modular software services development is preferred.

Salary: $166k - $220k/yr
