Responsibilities

  • Design the version set model with locked module combinations, compatibility matrices, and automatic constraint solving.
  • Architect hermetic, reproducible build pipelines with deterministic artifacts, content-addressable storage, and provenance tracking.
  • Build and maintain static and runtime dependency graphs across more than 2,000 services, including conflict detection and transitive dependency resolution.
  • Define monorepo, package ownership, module boundary, and cross-module change governance.
  • Architect change impact analysis, selective test execution, and change confidence scoring.
  • Design GitOps-driven deployment workflows for multi-site configurations and graduated patch, minor, major, and security releases.
  • Architect a four-layer testing framework with automated coverage enforcement for modules, compliance, integration, and site-specific tests.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in large-scale distributed systems or platform infrastructure.
  • Deep expertise with build systems and dependency management at scale, including Bazel, Buck, Pants, Nx, or equivalent systems supporting 1,000+ packages.
  • Production experience with reproducible builds, content-addressable storage, hermetic environments, deterministic CI, and SLSA provenance.
  • Experience building static and runtime dependency analysis, impact computation, and selective testing systems.
  • Strong experience with semantic versioning governance, version resolution, compatibility constraints, and lockfile-style pinning across large service fleets.
  • Experience with API contract evolution, protobuf/gRPC versioning, schema evolution, and contract testing.
  • Experience with multi-region or multi-tenant platform architectures serving regulated workloads.
  • Demonstrated success migrating monolithic systems to modular architectures without business disruption.
  • Preferred experience with Amazon VersionSet, Brazil, Apollo, Google Blaze/Bazel, Meta Buck/Configerator, or similar systems.
  • Preferred background at Stripe or Adyen, particularly with multi-country financial platforms and compliance parameterization.
