Platform Security Engineer, DRTM in USA

Responsibilities

  • Own DRTM hardware security feature adoption and integration across x86 and ARM infrastructure.
  • Implement attestation services and security, privacy, isolation, and hardening capabilities enabled by DRTM.
  • Design a bootloader-agnostic solution for initiating and relaunching DRTM sessions.
  • Investigate PPAM, VMM, UEFI runtime services, ACPI, and other DRTM hardening approaches.
  • Collaborate with vendors and OEMs to define and implement DRTM requirements.
  • Publish DRTM work upstream and help maintain Linux Secure Launch as tboot is retired.
  • Lead architecture and design, and communicate work through specifications, technical papers, conference talks, and community engagement.
  • Build and harden confidential computing solutions including TDX and SEV.
  • Support custom operating system artifacts, device drivers, firmware diagnosis, and production kernel and system debugging.
  • Investigate new and unresolved platform security issues, including dTPM and fTPM security problems.

Requirements

  • Deep hands-on experience with measured boot, DRTM, SRTM, TPM 1.2/2.0, and associated measurement chains.
  • Strong C and assembly skills with deep Linux kernel and early-boot knowledge, including bootloaders, UEFI, ACPI, and SMM.
  • Record of landing substantial upstream work in Linux, TianoCore, GRUB, or a comparable community.
  • Experience with JTAG, serial debugging, platform bring-up, and silicon errata.
  • Strong technical cross-functional leadership and direction-setting experience with external vendors and OEMs.
  • Clear written communication skills for specifications, design documents, and public technical writing.
  • Working knowledge of NIST firmware security guidance, particularly SP 800-193 and SP 800-147/155.
  • Preferred: 8+ years in systems security, including at least 5 years focused on firmware, bootloader, and OS-level security.
  • Preferred: Linux maintainership or subsystem ownership, or standing in the TCG, UEFI Forum, or OCP communities.
  • Preferred: confidential computing experience with TDX, SEV-SNP, ARM CCA, and attestation flows.
  • Preferred: experience with Caliptra, OCP S.A.F.E., SPDM, Rust, firmware vulnerability research, reverse engineering, fuzzing, or AI/ML infrastructure security.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range is $320,000–$405,000 USD.
  • Hybrid policy currently expects staff to work from an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office time.
  • Visa sponsorship is available for eligible roles and candidates, with immigration-lawyer support.

Salary: $320k - $405k/yr
