Responsibilities

Set technical direction and define architecture and standards for Kubernetes, distributed systems, and hyperscaler infrastructure across multiple engineering teams.
Design and operate cloud-native platform capabilities including multi-cloud topology, control planes, workload isolation, identity and trust fabrics, and large-scale reliability.
Solve ambiguous, high-impact technical problems and mitigate risks for initiatives with C-suite visibility.
Drive consistent architectural decisions and best-practice adoption across the platform ecosystem.
Provide technical leadership across teams and mentor staff and senior engineers.

Requirements

15+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 12+ years with a master’s degree designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
Deep experience running Kubernetes at scale across multi-cluster, multi-region, and multi-tenant environments.
Hands-on experience with one or more major hyperscalers, their managed Kubernetes offerings, and associated networking, IAM, and capacity tradeoffs.
Strong programming skills in Go and fluency across the cloud-native ecosystem.
Expertise with operator/controller patterns, infrastructure-as-code, control planes such as Crossplane, GitOps delivery, container networking, and service mesh.
Experience providing technical leadership across multiple engineering teams and integrating AI into engineering or platform work.
Preferred experience with workload identity, mTLS, SPIFFE/SPIRE, multi-tenant workload isolation, runtime security, regulated or federal platforms, observability at scale, and platform-as-product practices.

Benefits

Base pay is $240,100-$420,200, plus equity when applicable, variable or incentive compensation, and benefits.
