Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Windows kernel-mode drivers using WDM and KMDF for virtualized environments.
Implement enlightenments and specialized drivers such as VirtIO to optimize the Windows-on-KVM stack and reduce hypervisor overhead.
Debug low-level interactions between the Windows kernel, virtual hardware abstraction layers, and the KVM/QEMU host.
Build and maintain internal diagnostic tools to monitor driver health and performance.
Collaborate with Linux Kernel and KVM specialists to align host-side features with guest-side driver requirements.
Identify and resolve race conditions, memory leaks, BSODs, silent failures, and performance regressions in virtualized contexts.

Requirements

Expert C/C++ programming skills for systems-level programming involving resource management and concurrency.
Deep knowledge of Windows Kernel Internals, including memory management, I/O request packets, interrupt handling, and the Windows Driver Model.
Expert-level proficiency with kernel debugging.
Understanding of x86 virtualization extensions, including Intel VT-x and AMD-V, and guest operating system interaction with hypervisors.
Proven ability to troubleshoot failures and performance regressions at the boundary between software and virtual hardware.
Familiarity with the Linux Kernel and subsystems such as Scheduler, KVM, and QEMU is a plus.
Experience with Linux-side debugging tools such as gdb, perf, or ftrace is a plus.
Contributions to open-source virtualization projects or Windows-Linux interoperability layers are a plus.
