Responsibilities

  • Work hands-on with Apache Spark, Apache Iceberg, and streaming infrastructure to diagnose performance and build scalable systems.
  • Contribute to technical strategy and architectural decisions for critical data platform initiatives.
  • Design and evolve self-service platform APIs and developer-facing abstractions.
  • Influence adjacent teams and align engineering, product, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Mentor engineers and improve engineering practices across the organization.
  • Use AI tooling in daily work and help the team use it effectively.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with meaningful data platform or distributed systems experience.
  • Deep expertise in Apache Spark and Apache Iceberg.
  • Strong experience with streaming infrastructure such as Apache Kafka or Apache Pulsar and cloud-native data platforms on AWS.
  • Experience designing internal platforms and developer-facing abstractions.
  • Ability to drive technical alignment across multi-team environments and communicate architectural changes effectively.
  • Databricks experience is a bonus.
