Principal / Staff / Senior Infrastructure Engineer in USA

Responsibilities

  • Own server deployments, infrastructure automation, software deployments, data backups, and data recovery.
  • Manage enterprise deployments and SSO integrations in partnership with customer success.
  • Partner with application developers to deliver infrastructure solutions for product needs.
  • Document security processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certification processes, audits, and penetration testing.
  • Coordinate improvements to architecture and hosting services.
  • Monitor and improve cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
  • Support zero-downtime deployments, CI/CD workflows, disaster recovery, stress testing, and red-team exercises.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, respond to incidents, and lead blameless postmortems.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of cloud infrastructure and/or security engineering experience for the senior level, 6+ years for staff, or 8+ years for principal.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with AWS security services and Linux administration.
  • Experience managing SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance programs and penetration testing.
  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes and/or Helm, observability systems, and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with distributed systems, secure multi-tenant SaaS, self-hosted deployments, SBOM generation and auditing, and high-availability services.
  • Experience with Bash and Python scripting; Go or Rust experience is relevant to the application stack.
  • Experience with reverse proxies such as nginx and with SSO, OIDC, and LDAP.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to drive cross-functional initiatives independently.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technology-related field.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident.
  • Familiarity with AI tools for debugging, documentation, and reducing operational toil.
  • Availability to work from the San Francisco or Boston flex offices one to two days per week is preferred.
