Responsibilities

  • Lead technical bridges, SWARMs, war rooms, and major production incidents through troubleshooting, mitigation, service restoration, and follow-up actions.
  • Act as the technical escalation point for complex issues involving applications, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, databases, and networking.
  • Guide the 24/7 Production Operations team and provide technical support for critical incidents outside regular working hours when required.
  • Lead production patching and platform lifecycle activities, including Kubernetes, GKE, EKS, and AKS upgrades and security patching.
  • Automate operational activities using Python, Bash, Go, Terraform, CI/CD, and GitOps.
  • Use AI and Generative AI tools for troubleshooting, log and alert analysis, automation, knowledge retrieval, and proactive issue identification.
  • Improve monitoring, observability, alert quality, MTTA, MTTR, incident prevention, and production reliability.
  • Lead root-cause analyses and convert incident learnings into automation and permanent corrective actions.
  • Develop reusable operational tooling and self-service capabilities to reduce manual intervention.
  • Mentor ProdOps engineers and collaborate with Engineering, SRE, DevOps, Cloud Platform, Security, and Support teams.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in Production Operations, Production Engineering, SRE, DevOps, Cloud Operations, or a similar role.
  • Strong experience supporting business-critical SaaS production environments.
  • Experience leading major incidents, technical bridges, SWARMs, war rooms, or equivalent incident-response activities.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and GCP, AWS, or Azure, with GCP preferred.
  • Experience with Terraform, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and GitOps, including tools such as ArgoCD, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Harness.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, Go, or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience with observability technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, or New Relic.
  • Practical experience using AI, Generative AI, or AI-assisted engineering tools for troubleshooting, automation, operational analysis, or production engineering.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, applications, databases, networking, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with production patching, Kubernetes and platform upgrades, root-cause analysis, and incident prevention.
  • Technical leadership, problem-solving, mentoring, and communication skills.
  • Preferred experience includes complex Kubernetes/GKE upgrades, self-service automation, alert reduction, PostgreSQL, backup and disaster recovery, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub, SQS, and Ansible.
  • CKA, CKAD, and/or CKS certification is preferred.
