Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Development stakeholders to understand requirements and contribute quality perspectives to product design and roadmap discussions.
  • Create, implement, review, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test strategies, test scripts, and test cases.
  • Test new features and regressions across Toast’s hardware and software products, including desktop, hardware, mobile, web, backend, and frontend systems.
  • Create, prioritize, and escalate defects; assist project teams with defect triage, reproduction, customer issue debugging, and fix validation.
  • Develop reusable automated test scripts and increase automation coverage and release-testing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with QA engineers and developers to adapt the test automation strategy and improve testing processes.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies and stay current with Jira, Confluence, TestRail, and automation tools.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Ability to understand complex business logic and develop creative testing approaches.
  • Experience designing and delivering test plans for significant components, feature sets, mid-size applications, or services.
  • Solid understanding of testing strategies and methodologies, including API testing with Postman, web application testing, and automated testing with Selenium or Playwright.
  • Experience with or knowledge of automation frameworks, methodologies, and tools for backend and frontend technology stacks.
  • Ability to create maintainable, reusable automation scripts that identify bugs without producing false positives.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships, provide useful review feedback, solve problems, and learn continuously in a dynamic environment.
  • Preferred: hands-on experience testing fintech, payments products, and payments services.
