Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Development, QA, and project stakeholders to understand requirements and define testing approaches.
  • Create comprehensive test plans and participate in test plan and test strategy reviews.
  • Test new features and regression scenarios across Toast’s hardware and software products.
  • Create, prioritize, and escalate defects, and assist with defect triage, reproduction, debugging, and fix validation.
  • Develop reusable automation scripts and increase automated test coverage for release testing.
  • Contribute quality perspectives to product design and roadmap discussions and participate in sprint ceremonies.
  • Stay current with Jira, Confluence, TestRail, and test automation tools.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Quality Assurance experience.
  • Ability to understand complex business logic and create creative, effective test scenarios.
  • Experience designing and delivering test plans for significant components, feature sets, applications, or services.
  • Strong understanding of testing strategies and methodologies, including API testing with Postman and web application testing.
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing using Selenium, Playwright, or comparable tools and familiarity with automation frameworks and methodologies.
  • Ability to create maintainable, reusable automation scripts that identify defects without producing false positives.
  • Experience improving testing processes, reviewing test cases and scripts, and collaborating effectively with engineering peers.
  • Preferred: strong familiarity with backend and frontend test automation frameworks.
  • Preferred: hands-on experience testing fintech and payments products and services.
