Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Wi-Fi and networking driver components in an open-development environment.
  • Create and document software specifications and designs for QNX customers.
  • Estimate requirements, design, implementation, and testing efforts.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and technical approaches to development teams, technical leads, and management.
  • Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and unit testing with technical peers.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve complex software problems and inadequacies.
  • Liaise with customers regarding product performance, problems, and system design.
  • Develop custom software solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of software department approaches and standards.
  • Coach and mentor the team on engineering best practices, software quality, safety standards, scalability, reliability, and performance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience developing Wi-Fi drivers, including STA, AP, P2P, and multi-mode implementations.
  • Thorough knowledge of at least one of PCIe, SDIO, or USB interfaces.
  • Good knowledge of Wi-Fi authentication and encryption methods.
  • Understanding of wpa_supplicant and hostapd.
  • Good understanding of Wi-Fi control and data paths.
  • Expertise in C and Python.
  • Good knowledge of Linux operating system internals.
  • Experience with QNX is a strong plus.
