Responsibilities

  • Automate testing processes and create scripts for high-level regression testing.
  • Design test plans, scenarios, cases, estimates, and documentation across requirements analysis, execution, reporting, and review.
  • Use SQL to query and manipulate data for testing and analysis.
  • Test SOAP and REST APIs using tools such as Swagger and Postman.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems, investigate defects, coordinate retesting after fixes, and follow issues through closure in Rally and Jira.
  • Analyze test results and provide detailed reports with actionable recommendations and regular status updates.
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams to create and maintain quality processes and measurements.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
  • Share relevant technical and industry knowledge with distributed, virtual teams.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in software testing, focused on functional testing and test documentation.
  • At least 3 years of SQL experience, including querying and manipulating data for analysis and testing.
  • Experience with test automation and a strong understanding of functional testing approaches and test documentation.
  • Knowledge of SOAP API and REST API testing for automation is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of API technologies, including Swagger and Postman, is preferred.
  • Experience with Jira, Rally, Jenkins, and Git.
  • Understanding of SDLC and STLC testing phases and practices.
  • Knowledge of Agile working practices is preferred.
  • Financial services industry experience and knowledge of its regulations and processes are preferred.
  • Knowledge of generative AI platforms such as GitHub Copilot is an additional consideration.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to work effectively in virtual teams.
