Senior Android Engineer in USA

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, maintain, and release high-quality Android application code for roadmap projects.
  • Align closely with product managers and designers to move projects forward.
  • Collaborate with backend, firmware, data science, research, science, and QA teams on complex mobile features.
  • Improve the Android codebase and contribute to platform-level improvements with Android colleagues across the US and EU.
  • Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, unit testing, manual testing, and standard development workflows.
  • Own technical solutions and implementation with limited guidance while mentoring engineers and improving developer productivity.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional experience shipping Android applications.
  • Proficiency in Kotlin, modern Android architectures such as MVVM and MVI, RxJava, Coroutines or Flow, Jetpack Compose, and common third-party libraries.
  • Experience collaborating on complex shared codebases using Git, branching, and code review workflows.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals and knowledge of design patterns.
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum processes.
  • Preferred qualifications include 7+ years of Android development, consumer or enterprise apps and SDKs, technical or team leadership, Dagger, Realm, SQLite, JNI, PyTorch, TypeScript, Kotlin Multiplatform, BLE, SDK development, functional programming, systems architecture, performance optimization, distributed collaboration, firmware-related hardware projects, app release management, CI/CD, health or wearable software, ML algorithms, encryption, data privacy, and C++.
