Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the parser framework, including reusable primitives, performance improvements, reliability, and testability.
  • Design parsing, schema mapping, normalization, and transformation approaches for diverse and evolving security data.
  • Drive high-impact parser integrations from design through delivery and establish patterns for other engineers.
  • Partner with detection, data, and integration teams to ensure parsed data supports downstream use cases.
  • Mentor junior engineers through design discussions and code reviews.
  • Use LLM-based coding assistants, AI-generated tests, automated code review, and log analysis to accelerate parser development.
  • Automate regression testing, schema diffing, and sample ingestion, and help the team adopt AI-assisted parser workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on data parsing, integration, or log processing.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, Java, Ruby, or C++.
  • Deep familiarity with JSON, XML, CSV, syslog, key-value data, and unstructured text.
  • Strong command of regular expressions and other pattern-matching techniques.
  • Understanding of data normalization, schema design, and transformation principles.
  • Experience integrating with APIs, web services, and streaming data sources.
  • Regular production use of AI tools such as Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT, with the judgment to evaluate their output.
  • Working understanding of cybersecurity concepts and data emitted by security tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience with cybersecurity tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR, SIEM, and cloud security services.
  • Preferred familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Cloud Logging, Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Preferred experience using LLMs for log analysis, parser generation, or schema inference, or building AI-enabled data engineering tools.
  • Preferred familiarity with MCP, function calling, or agent frameworks.
