Responsibilities

Analyze component requirements using subsystem requirements and design inputs.
Produce component architecture and design specifications compliant with SIL 0 requirements of Cenelec EN 50128.
Write interface specifications documenting message formats.
Develop component software according to coding standards.
Develop component test scripts in Python using the in-house test framework.
Create precise, traceable design documentation linked to requirements and test cases.
Apply enterprise integration patterns and object-oriented design approaches.
Adhere to software processes, coding standards, cyber security standards, and safety standards.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology, or equivalent.
Ideally at least 5 years of software development experience and demonstrated ability to produce quality design documentation.
Experience with C++, Java, or similar object-oriented languages.
Experience with XML, XSLT, MySQL, and unit testing frameworks.
Demonstrated experience writing software requirements and performing object-oriented design.
Real-time or semi-real-time software design and development experience.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively and deliver to tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.
Rail industry experience is beneficial.
