Senior Back End Engineer in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor engineers while stewarding engineering best practices.
  • Own defined problems independently from design through implementation and production.
  • Build and extend identity and access management capabilities, including authentication, authorization, RBAC, and OAuth/OIDC flows.
  • Improve AWS and cloud infrastructure, including security posture, configuration, and operational guardrails.
  • Improve performance, security, and optimization for high-volume transactional databases.
  • Harden APIs, services, and distributed systems against failure and abuse.
  • Participate in incident response and remediation, fix root causes, and improve observability.
  • Partner with the Security/CISO team to design and ship durable engineering fixes.
  • Build and scale performant, secure services and user-facing web applications.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience building precise and scalable distributed systems.
  • Ability to own and drive well-defined problems end to end without close direction.
  • Backend engineering focus with comfort working across the full stack.
  • Track record of building and shipping work involving security, scale, or infrastructure; this is not a dedicated Security/AppSec role.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or a similar Engineering or Mathematics field is ideally preferred.
  • Ability to learn and work with modern technology stacks including Java, Spring Boot, AWS, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, React.js, TypeScript, and GraphQL.
  • Fintech, payments, or other security-sensitive and highly regulated environment experience is a plus.
  • Strong ownership, communication, resilience, technical aptitude, and creative problem-solving skills.
