Responsibilities

Troubleshoot production databases, ServiceNow instance performance issues, and Linux performance problems across on-premises and hyperscaler environments.
Own complex incident root-cause analyses across large-scale, multi-tenant PostgreSQL and MariaDB fleets.
Develop observability and automation to prevent recurrence of critical issues.
Influence infrastructure decisions for a multi-tenant cloud platform.
Perform performance and stress testing using realistic customer simulations.
Develop and deploy mission-critical software.
Mentor and collaborate with engineers in operations, support, and development.
Lead individual projects, including scheduling and reporting.

Requirements

At least 5 years of database management and performance-tuning experience.
At least 5 years supporting or testing large-scale web-based distributed applications in Unix environments, including containers or application servers such as Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic, and WebSphere.
At least 3 years developing on a SaaS, PaaS, or cloud infrastructure product or solution.
At least 4 years of experience with multiple relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
Experience with MVCC, transaction management, vacuum mechanics, database and query performance tuning, buffer management, WAL architecture, and backup/restore.
Experience with concurrency, multithreading, and distributed-system architectures.
Unix development, navigation, file manipulation, permissions, search, and administrative skills.
Basic shell scripting and experience with Python, JavaScript, and Ansible are desired.
Experience on a DevOps, performance, or support team supporting web-based applications is desired.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar technical discipline, or equivalent technical/work experience.
Experience integrating or critically evaluating AI in work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn the ServiceNow Platform.

Benefits

Base pay range of CAD 94,100-160,000 plus equity when applicable, variable/incentive compensation, and benefits.
Health plans, an RRSP plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, family and medical leave programs, and 20 days of annual vacation accrued each pay period.
Flexible or remote work persona, subject to role and location eligibility.
Regular employee position in the AMS North America and Canada region.
