Responsibilities

Operate and support enterprise compute platforms across hardware, operating systems, virtualization, and container orchestration layers.
Automate provisioning, patching, upgrades, validation, and routine platform operations using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Git, Bash, and Python.
Deploy and support Ubuntu systems, hypervisors, Kubernetes clusters, and related platform services.
Implement and maintain PXE provisioning environments using Redfish APIs for large-scale server deployments.
Operate and troubleshoot KVM on Ubuntu, OpenStack, Harvester HCI, and other private cloud platforms.
Monitor performance, capacity, and availability while addressing reliability risks and meeting SLAs, KPIs, and error budgets.
Troubleshoot complex issues across hardware, operating systems, virtualization, OpenStack, and Kubernetes.
Participate in on-call escalation support and collaborate on change management, documentation, runbooks, and operational best practices.
Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with development, operations, security, and product stakeholders.

Requirements

At least 6 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or Infrastructure Operations Engineer focused on compute.
Strong hands-on experience operating bare metal compute environments at scale, including PXE boot, automated OS provisioning, server imaging, and BMaaS using Redfish APIs.
Strong Linux administration skills, especially with Ubuntu, plus experience with KVM, OpenStack, Harvester HCI, and production Kubernetes environments.
Experience building and supporting infrastructure and platform CI/CD pipelines and using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
Strong Python, Bash, or comparable scripting skills and proven troubleshooting and root cause analysis abilities in distributed systems.
Understanding of SRE practices including toil reduction, error budgets, SLAs, and reliability management.
Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred qualifications include CIS/NIST security knowledge, ITIL certifications, telco or edge cloud experience, Ubuntu certifications, CKA or CKS certification, and a relevant master’s degree.
