Design, implement, and test embedded C software for safety-critical multicore automotive microcontrollers.
Develop base software including RTOS components, device drivers, scheduling, and bootloaders; middleware including inter-component messaging and end-to-end protection; and vehicle application components.
Integrate Nuro Driver with new vehicle platforms by implementing CAN and Ethernet interfaces with OEM ECUs and adapting actuator and body-control interfaces.
Perform device and vehicle bring-up, prototyping, debugging, and validation across multiple vehicle platforms.
Build and maintain unit-test, hardware-in-the-loop, and vehicle-test verification infrastructure.
Define software requirements from system safety requirements and implement and verify them with full traceability within an ISO 26262 process.
Collaborate with systems, safety, hardware, controls, autonomy, OEM, and supplier engineers.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
At least 3 years of industry experience developing embedded software in C, including work with a real-time operating system.
Knowledge of data structures, concurrency, algorithm design, microcontroller internals, and peripherals.
Depth in at least one of device drivers, CAN or automotive Ethernet, bootloaders and software updates, embedded security, or vehicle-level integration and testing.
Ability to use debug probes, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and CAN tools for hardware and software debugging.
Preferred experience includes 5+ years of automotive or autonomous-vehicle embedded development and a production launch.
Preferred experience includes ISO 26262, DO-178C, or IEC 62304 safety-critical development.
Preferred experience includes Infineon AURIX TC3xx, SafeRTOS, FreeRTOS, AUTOSAR Classic, MCAL, communication stacks, DBC, ARXML, UDS diagnostics, E2E protection, time synchronization, vehicle functions, vehicle dynamics, or control theory.
Benefits
Base pay is stated as part of a total compensation package, with eligibility for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.
