Senior Engineer - Network Management Platform in USA

Responsibilities

  • Architect and deliver features that manage and deploy network configuration across Fastly’s global fleet.
  • Design and deliver infrastructure provisioning capabilities as the fleet grows in size and complexity.
  • Develop and improve software development processes, including testing and CI/CD.
  • Write performant, maintainable, clear, and concise code; participate in code reviews and improve team processes.
  • Mentor and support other engineers while fostering knowledge sharing, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Provide occasional nights and weekends support as needed for on-call coverage.

Requirements

  • Significant related professional experience developing software; most Senior Engineers at Fastly have more than five years of related experience.
  • At least three years of experience building and managing containerized applications and container orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • At least three years of experience automating public-cloud workloads with GCP or AWS and using infrastructure-as-code solutions such as Terraform.
  • Experience with software development and DevOps best practices.
  • A track record of writing resilient and maintainable Python or another modern language.
  • Preferred: practical understanding of networking concepts at scale and experience provisioning and configuring network infrastructure.
  • Preferred: experience with infrastructure provisioning and deployment concepts such as ZTP.
  • Preferred: experience with configuration management software such as Ansible and Chef.
  • Preferred: experience with compiled languages, preferably Go.
  • Preferred: knowledge of scalable and distributed key-value stores and SQL databases.

  • The estimated US salary range is $181,220 to $217,464, with potential eligibility for equity and discretionary bonus programs.
