Responsibilities

  • Build and lead frontend technical solutions and custom user interfaces for millions of sports fans.
  • Architect component libraries, scope technical requirements, and own frontend delivery across a squad.
  • Write type-safe TypeScript applications and optimize web performance, accessibility, and responsive experiences.
  • Conduct code reviews, establish clean-code practices, and document frontend architectures, codebases, and integration guides.
  • Manage release pipelines across development, staging, and production environments.
  • Collaborate with design, product, backend engineering, clients, and external partners.
  • Mentor developers and establish technical Guilds, Chapters, or working groups to improve engineering standards.
  • Optionally conduct one-on-ones, performance reviews, and career coaching.

Requirements

  • Deep fluency in TypeScript, modern JavaScript ES6+, type safety principles, JSON data structures, and REST or GraphQL APIs.
  • Expert knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, SASS/SCSS, responsive web architectures, and cross-browser and device testing and debugging.
  • Advanced Git workflows, code management, build tools, and task automation experience.
  • Experience using Jira for ticket estimation, task assignment, and delivery tracking.
  • Working knowledge of third-party libraries, video streaming providers, live data feeds, package managers, and modern build systems.
  • Knowledge of web performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, responsive assets, WCAG accessibility standards, SEO, and technical implementation techniques.
  • Experience acting as a Tech Lead or Chapter Lead across frontend disciplines.
  • Strong technical communication, documentation, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Ability or interest in people management, including one-on-ones, performance reviews, and career coaching.
