Senior iOS Engineer in Canada

Responsibilities

  • Own iOS technical direction for the Growth Retention & Monetization team across the Everand and Scribd apps.
  • Build subscription, paywall, and in-app purchase experiences using StoreKit and StoreKit 2.
  • Ship A/B experiments and retention features such as trials, cancellation and save flows, and win-back experiences.
  • Collaborate with backend, web, and Android engineers on shared subscription systems.
  • Improve app stability, address technical debt, and migrate code to newer technologies without slowing delivery.
  • Break down large projects, unblock teammates, lead technical initiatives, and mentor engineers.
  • Design, build, and consume APIs and contribute to cross-functional alignment on goals and tradeoffs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience shipping iOS apps to the public, including consumer apps at scale.
  • Strong proficiency in Swift with deep experience in SwiftUI and UIKit.
  • Experience working in mature codebases containing Objective-C.
  • Experience building in-app purchase or subscription features with StoreKit and knowledge of applicable App Store rules.
  • Experience designing, building, and consuming APIs; GraphQL experience is a plus.
  • A track record of addressing technical debt and migrating code to newer technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead technical initiatives collaboratively.
  • Preferred: experience with subscription, payment, retention, paywall, experimentation, product analytics, web, backend, authentication, or cross-platform collaboration technologies.

Salary: $124k - $222k/yr
