Responsibilities

Design, operate, and continuously improve BASF’s global Rancher- and Kubernetes-based container platform.
Provision, operate, and optimize Kubernetes clusters across on-premises environments and Azure, 21Vianet, and Alibaba Cloud.
Drive automation, standardization, self-service capabilities, Infrastructure as Code, and GitOps practices.
Consult and support DevOps and application teams in selecting, deploying, operating, and scaling containerized workloads.
Identify and address weaknesses and improvement opportunities in infrastructure, platform architecture, performance, and security.
Analyze and resolve complex incidents, contribute to root cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective measures.
Improve monitoring, logging, and observability to increase platform reliability and transparency.
Coordinate dependencies across teams and ensure seamless integration and operation of platform services.

Requirements

Several years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, software engineering, or a related IT discipline.
Knowledge of Linux and experience running, building, and managing containers.
Hands-on Kubernetes experience in development, deployment, or operations; Rancher experience is advantageous.
Solid hands-on experience with cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure, including cloud services, architectures, and operational processes.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, Infrastructure as Code, and GitOps practices.
Practical experience delivering containerized applications and understanding how application teams build, deploy, and operate workloads.
Understanding of networking, identity and access management, security, and observability in cloud-native environments.
Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues, analyzing incidents, and contributing to root cause analysis.
Ability to translate application and business requirements into pragmatic platform and self-service solutions.
Collaborative approach and confidence working with DevOps teams, infrastructure specialists, and stakeholders across organizational boundaries.
Very good communication skills in English.
