Senior Platform Engineer (Infrastructure) in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
  • Manage and scale a Ruby on Rails stack.
  • Implement monitoring tools to improve observability.
  • Review feature code for performance requirements and identify potential performance issues before production.
  • Debug production issues across the technology stack.
  • Plan, optimize, and automate Fleetio’s infrastructure for growth.
  • Partner with feature engineering teams to build, deploy, and operate features safely and efficiently.
  • Respond to reliability and security incidents from triage and mitigation through post-incident follow-up.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of AWS experience.
  • 3+ years of Kubernetes experience.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, including Terraform.
  • Deep understanding of cloud networking fundamentals such as routing, firewalls, load balancers, CDNs, and VPCs.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails or an equivalent web application framework.
  • Expertise in profiling and benchmarking source code.
  • Experience conducting effective code reviews and identifying performance problems.
  • Experience with Datadog or other APM tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with distributed event and data stores such as Kafka, Redis, Elasticsearch, Memcached, and TimescaleDB is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the fleet management industry and experience using AI tools to automate repetitive work are additional pluses.
