Senior Research Engineer (Worlds) in Canada new

Responsibilities

  • Partner with researchers, engineers, artists, and designers to translate prototypes into production-ready game-engine features.
  • Research and implement solutions to complex video-game development challenges.
  • Conduct applied research in scene understanding, spatial reasoning, and visual quality evaluation, including integration, scaling, training, development, and support.
  • Build demos showcasing novel world-building solutions and integrate them with modern game-engine technologies.
  • Share findings and best practices while supporting team learning and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, a STEM field, or equivalent practical experience related to game content creation.
  • 7+ years of combined experience across graduate-degree research and professional or research experience.
  • Proven expertise with Vision-Language Models and computer vision methods, including depth estimation and video segmentation.
  • Hands-on experience with model training and inference.
  • Experience translating research ideas into functional prototypes or demos.
  • Strong Python and machine-learning framework skills using PyTorch or TensorFlow, plus experience with agentic frameworks.
  • Genuine interest in video games and the application of AI to game development.

Salary: $165k - $256k/yr
